Third Sunday in Advent & Kids Christmas Program

Advent is a word that means “arrive.” For over fourteen hundred years Christians have spent the four weeks before Christmas preparing their hearts and minds for Christ’s arrival.

Christmas is always a season of high expectations. Promises are made about gifts and get-togethers. The season itself promises us cozy moments and warm feelings. From that first Christmas until today, God has set high expectations by making many promises to his people that all find their fulfillment in the Christ-child born into a manger.

One of the promises God makes to us that is fulfilled at Christmas is the promise of peace. While much of our own lives and the life of our Savior is covered in conflict, God promises us an eternal peace that surpasses all understanding..
